Marlene E. (Brazell) Wishman

Marlene entered into eternal rest, surrounded by her daughters and their families, after a sudden illness. Born in San Francisco to Edward and Elsie Brazell, Marlene was a third generation Californian and Mayflower descendant. Early in life, her family ultimately established their roots in Sacramento where Marlene attended Dyer Kelly Elementary and graduated from Encina High School in 1961. In September 1962, she was wed to Carl Wishman at St. Matthew Episcopal Church. Marlene worked at Aerojet for several years as a data processor for various space missions before the couple welcomed two daughters: Kimberley Anne and Michelle Renee. Marlene was the penultimate homemaker after becoming a mother. She blessed her family with delicious home cooked meals each day. Her baking was top notch, and she was known for her scrumptious lemon méringue pie. Marlene’s favorite time of year was the Christmas season. Her annual Christmas Eve spread was one everyone looked forward to and she always served it in grand fashion. She took immense pride in providing for her family. Her loving heart was always ready to sacrifice for others. Later in life, Marlene went back to work at Macy’s where she excelled as the department cutlery specialist. She earned top honors from manufacturers and was recognized at an awards trip to San Francisco. She also enjoyed personal travel to Chicago and Kansas City with her daughters. After retirement, Marlene flourished in her passion of home decorating. Her eye for style and finding just the right piece to compliment a room was unmatched. She also became a doting grandmother to five grandchildren who love her endlessly. Marlene will be deeply missed by all who knew her; especially her two daughters. We will all miss her beautiful, vibrant smile and cheerful energy that lit up any room she entered. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elise Brazell, brother Frank Brazell, husband Carl Wishman and many other dear relatives and friends. She is survived by her daughters Kimberley Rauh (Kurt Rauh) of Roseville and Michelle Bumb (Jim Bumb) of Elk Grove as well as her grandchildren Kaitlin Rauh (22), Christina Bumb (21), James Bumb (17), Kurt Rauh (16) and Max Rauh (14). She will also be deeply missed by her niece Lauralee Mercado. Rest peacefully Mom, until we meet again.
